Melinda, You're so right. It is very easy to get wrapped up in the "perfect" curriculum search. Many times we just need to use what we already have. One of the keys to homeschooling success is consistency. It will work if we consistently use it (if our attitude is right).

Have you ever noticed how your attitude affects your children's attitude? My attitude often determined whether a project was a success or not. We need to enjoy learning along with our children.

All children are born with a creative desire to learn and find out "how come" something works. Somewhere along the way, that tends to disappear. What happened? Where did that intense desire to learn go to? That's a fragile thing. We, as parents, need to be careful that we don't destroy it by our schoolish rules and regulations instead of allowing our kids to have the time to investigate and explore.

Just my thoughts,
Susan

How very true!

It's the heart of the child that matters in the end. Even as a home school mom I get caught up in finding the perfect curriculum and the right resources rather than what my children really need - my time and attention to train them.

Thanks, Susan for the excellent reminder!
